Shingles

Shingles is a viral disease (same virus as Chickenpox) that largely affects adults and is characterised by a painful rash with blisters in a limited area of the body, usually on one side of the body.  The earliest symptoms which can include headache, fever, and malaise (feeling "out of sorts") are non specific and may result in an incorrect diagnosis at this early stage.
These symptoms are commonly followed by sensations of burning, itchy, or over sensitivity to the skin and later a rash appears and forms small blisters which can heal between seven to ten days (or longer in some instances.)
